Roma minority is largest group affected by social exclusion and poverty in Slovakia. The objective of this project is implementing of high quality individual work with people at risk of social exclusion within the Prešov region. Main achievement is to improve the social situation of vulnerable groups by provision of specific services – career counselling and drop-in day centre for children and families, programs focused on right employment pathways, on enjoyment from leisure time and on development of the social skills. 5 community centres located in Prešov region are using of individual progress planning with clients, an innovative method by which clients, with the help of professionals and volunteers, can set fourth their careers goals and the steps they can taken to achieve the progress .Direct beneficiaries are people at risk of social exclusion (400) in 5 localities in Prešov region, 70 people with created individual progress plans and 20 trained and involved volunteers.
The Effective Social Services Project focuses on high quality individual work with people at risk of social exclusion within the Presov region. The project will be implemented in the villages of Sveržov and Petrovany as well as within the Roškovce area of the village of Doľany. The project will also be implemented within the cities of Spišské Podhradie and Prešov. The target groups are children, young people and adults, some of which come from socially disadvantaged Roma communities. Organization seeks to find sustainable solutions to improve the social situation of vulnerable groups. The activities of the proposed project will be focused on such groups. The provision of specific services - career counselling and a drop-in day center for children and families creates conditions for success in the labour market, the opportunity to opt for the right employment pathways, space for the enjoyment of leisure time in a meaningful way and the development of social skills. The project will also include individual progress planning with clients, an innovative method by which clients, with the help of the organisation, can set fourth their careers goals and the steps they can take to achieve progress. It is the client’s responsibility to define these goals and to take the necessary steps to achieve them. Qualified staff will empower clients to achieve these goals with the organization’s volunteers also assisting in the process. In relation to the organization’s experience, they are happy to share the results of roundtable meetings and other relevant publications.
Project goal: The project is part of the strategy to enhance the quality of social services through individual development plans and analysis of the results obtained.
Main outcomes of the project:

-1 individual planning methodology in social work with vulnerable groups

-1 Analysis of the effectiveness of selected social services
