There are around 4000 people living on the streets in Bratislava. The objective of the project is to establish first Low threshold Day Care and Integration Centre called DOMEC in Bratislava for homeless people. DOMEC offers wider scale of services: hygiene, clothing, food and drinks up to very specific counselling and assistance that helps to full integration of the clients into society (permanent living, job placement, and social network).
The project target homeless people, 50 professionals from other NGOs that benefit with know-how, materials and seminars providing by Norwegian partner. Salvation Army Norway helps to NGO Vagus gain new skills and methods in work with homeless people in Bratislava.Implementation of ART will raise the quality of social services, social and legal protection of children with problem behavior in SR. They'll create the potential for multiplication of the program aimed to help children at risk.
Project goal: The creation of the first Day and Integration center for homeless people in the downtown of Bratislava, which will provide the clients with a wide scale of services in order of social integration.
Project has a high ambitions to provide (12 months period) 18 800 clients daily access to Centre, 3 100 social advisements, 280 clients involvement in leisure time activities, 100 clients involvement in work activities and 12 clients who successful completed whole integration process.
Main outcomes of the project:
- Reconstruction of the object on Mytna 33 - and registering Low threshold day centre and Integration centre to the list of providers of social services
- employing of 6 social workers
- Enhancing the life quality of homeless people: a) providing the following lowthreshold services for clients: - hygiene, clothing, food and drinks, treatment, soc. advicement, social.
assistance, hobbies, work for clients in the project (cooking, cleaning public spaces in the neighborhood, etc.). higher client satisfaction and improved quality of life, reduction of risks associated with social status of homeless people, improving the perceived threat of the public
- Complete and individual integration of clients – 12 clients
- 100 pcs hardcopy material containing examples of good practice of partners, online version for download
